Routine or annual visits are not just an opportunity to “get the cat his shots.” Vaccination is important, but it’s only one part of ongoing healthcare for your cat’s lifetime. When your well cat visits us, our doctor will perform a head to tail examination. Our nurses will measure blood pressure and perform an ECG. For some cats, blood is taken to perform tests for specific diseases. Our overriding goal is to catch abnormalities early on, when they can be successfully treated. And yes, we will customize a vaccine protocol to your cat’s individual lifestyle. Healthy adult cats should see us for this visit once each year.
